“Mr. Rafał…?”, it was on that memorable Saturday when the court-appointed probation officer spoke during yet another routine monitoring visit (part of the supervisory order issued by the family court and the request from the Commission for Combating Alcoholism). “With all due respect and sympathy for you, nothing has improved over the past year of our contact,” she remarked (as I had been falling into drinking binges with a bi-weekly regularity…).

I do not possess omniscience, nor do I claim a monopoly on successful recovery from alcohol addiction.
